Our various dog sport training teaches the specialized skills and behaviors needed for competitive activities. This training enhances physical fitness, provides mental stimulation, and strengthens the bond between dogs and their handlers.
Basic Nosework
- 1 hour class/week – 4 weeks
- Dogs of any age
- For dogs that have not been introduced to odors
- Building the foundation of independent searching (food/toys)
- Odor imprinting on birch, clove, and anise
- Working multiple containers
- Speed drills and drive building
Advanced Nosework
- 1 hour class/week – 4 weeks
- Must complete Beginner Nosework class first
- For dogs that have been introduced to odors
- Container and interior searches, building a strong alert and proofing off distractions
- Leash handling, searches with multiple hides, blank searches
- Exteriors and vehicle searches, building motivation to work outdoors
- Learning search patterns
Confidence Building Course
- 1 hour class/week – 4 weeks
- Obstacles include A-frame, Walk-it, Jumps, Tire Hoop, See Saw, Weave Poles and Tunnel
- Builds confidence, provides mental stimulation, manages energy levels
- Develops strong relationship between dog and handler
Advanced Confidence Building Course
- 1 hour class/week – 5 weeks
- Must complete Confidence Building class first
- Obstacles include Spiderweb, Barrels, Triple Hoop, Slide, Rope Bridge and Treehouse Climb
- More challenging course that builds strength, flexibility and endurance
AKC Tricks Novice
- 1 hour class/week – 4 weeks
- Behaviors that are designed to entertain others
- Builds confidence and bond with handler
- Novice tricks include high five, crawl, spin, balance beam and find it
- AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title qualifies for 5 of the tricks
AKC Tricks Intermediate
- 1 hour class/week – 4 weeks
- Must have Novice AKC Trick Dog Title first
- Intermediate tricks include leg weave, close door, push a button, rollover and sit pretty
- Must demonstrate 10 intermediate level tricks
Mantrailing
- 1 hour class/week – 4 weeks
- Dogs of any age
- Long line, harness, and treats or toy required
- Dogs learn to follow the scent of a human trail to find them
- Dogs learn to smell a scent article to find that specific person
Jump Wall
- 1 hour class/week – 4 weeks
- Dogs over 18 months old
- 15-minute evaluation to assess toy drive
- Dogs are harnessed in a safety belay system and monitored by two trainers
Swim Lessons
- Orientation required for new swimmers
- Trainer assisted, independent, and buddy swim options
- 30-minute sessions
Open Swim
- Current independent swimmers only
- Dates and times TBD
- Swimmers must be human and dog social
Mondioring Level 1
- 1 hour class/week – 6 weeks
- Dogs over 6 months old
- Includes advanced obedience – heel work (on and off leash), stay, food refusal, and retrieval
- Intense distractions, unique scenarios
